To distinguish themselves from other Achaeans, most adventurers opt to join a class, which is simply a set of special skills allowing one to become, for example, a magician or a knight. Joining a class imparts three compatible skills to the adventurer (two are gained initially, the third upon reaching level 40), in addition to the common skills everyone possesses. See also Help:Class.
Additionally, members of the same class share a common channel, by which questions regarding the different skills may be asked and answered. Using the CLASS command will enable an individual to address the rest of the class on the channel.
Following are the 15 classes available to adventurers:
