The War of the Divine Child, as it has come to be called, began with the kidnapping of the child-god Pandemonium from the Eileithyian Tree, where his mother, the goddess Eris, had placed him for safekeeping.
The child was revealed to have been taken by Sartan, God of Evil, who had bound Pandemonium in a fissure beneath Mhaldor. The citizens of Ashtan, Hashan, Cyrene, and Eleusis, as well as many cityless rogues, joined forces to attempt to rescue the divine child.
