Owls are birds of prey who specialize in flying silently, and who generally prefer the darkness of the night to the light of the day. A variety of species can be found throughout the lands, each with its own unique characteristics.
- Great horned owl
- The majority of these birds' feathers are reddish-brown, although a white ring is on their upper breast. Their eyes are a deep yellow, and their beaks black. They are characterized by the two horn-like tufts of feathers that they sport on the top of their head. They can be found on the outskirts of the Creville Asylum
- Khulian fish owl
- These owls are a ubiquitous sight above the waters of the Khulia River of Shala-Khulia, particularly during the day. Their wide, yellow eyes constantly monitor the water for unsuspecting fish. The owls' toes - two each facing forward and backward - allow them to perch on rocks and trees with ease once they have caught their prey.
- Snowy owl
- A favoured animal of Sarapis the Logos, the snowy owl is rumoured to sometimes to be spotted in the peaceful Saoghal Valley, where the Logos has chosen to erect His sole temple.
