Makarta

Lord Makarta once led the Ivory Mark, the organisation dedicated to avenging those unable to do so for themselves, in the fishing town of Jaru. Day after day, he donned his stunning suit of ivory armour and stood outside the home of the Ivory Mark on Bridge Street where he waited to register prospective members.

Makarta was passed the Blade of the Masters by his mentor, the assassin Callibius. He held onto it for many years until it was stolen and cursed by Derillin Yu'tar in 401 AF, resulting in the creation of the arena game Champions vs Assassins. For a time, he was the mentor of Derillin, who later revealed himself to be Callibius' son.

In 446, Lord Makarta was murdered while attending a wedding at the Scarlattan Theatre in Delos. Naoise, the liquor merchant, came upon the scene and screamed, alerting adventurers to the incident. Those present were witness to the verbal taunts of a shadowy, cloaked figure who was later linked to the Quisalis Mark and then identified to be Isiva, the Blood Maiden.

Fifteen years after his death, the Arcadian princess Atlantia recovered Markata's stolen ivory helm from the depths of the Quisalis headquarters in New Thera, restoring the Ivory Mark and becoming its new registrar, situated in the Ivory Tower in the Sangre Plains outside the Halls of Combat. In honour of the former Mark leader, Atlantia had a statue of Lord Markata erected outside the Tower's entryway prior to its opening on the 14th of Aeguary, 473 AF.
