Boars

The boar is a species of wild pig found all across Sapience. Boars are possessed of two curved, sharp tusks that protrude from their lower jaw and a thick coat of bristly hair that ranges from black to brown. Full grown boars stand at a shoulder height of about four feet. The best-known boar is the sentient Black Boar of Sarapis, who dwells in the Saoghal Valley.

Two primary subspecies of boar exist. The black-brown wild boars of the Black Forest are given to fleeing at the slightest implication of danger. By contrast, the brown boars in the wilds of the Lupine Hunting Grounds are aggressive and highly territorial.
