Thornwall Hold

Thornwall Hold is a hidden bastion which stands in the shadow of the Northern Vasnari Mountains. The Meropian Coastal Highway emerges from its gates but the fortress itself has remained barred to Sapients since the fall of Seleucar. Thornwall is known as one of few Meropian holdfasts to survive the Dark Ages, indeed, it was the refuge of the boy Durande and his sisters. A poison-infused lake nearby its walls was the source of the miraculous Durandian steel.
