The term Dark Ages refers to the span of years following the fall of the Seleucarian Empire and ending with beginning of the Modern Age in 172 AF.
Notable events of the Dark Ages include:
- The sundering of the continent into two land masses, called Sapience and Meropis.
- The razing of the Imperial provinces and wide-spread decline in literacy.
- The collapse of village economies, continental trade, and the loss of shipcraft.
- A renewal of hostilities between the kingdoms of Ashtan and Shallam.
- The discovery of Durandian Steel.
- The signing of the Treaty of Meropis.
