I used to think that the entire island was a part of Ethian, but now I'm inclined to think that only the landmark part of it was what fell. Well, that and Yudhishthira. Polyargos is a huge island, and an impact that large would have decimated not just the Aalen Forest, but Cyrene and a good part of the Southern Vashnars as well. PUBLIC NEWS #7503 details the discovery of the island (and a few posts before and after, from different points of view). No word on religion from what I can find.
