- This page is about the House descended from the Infernals guild. For other uses, please see Infernals (disambiguation).
The Maldaathi are a House based in Mhaldor's Baelgrim Fortress within the Spire of Annihilation. They converted from the Infernal-class guild of the same name. The House has a very colourful history, with much internal and external conflict resulting from the split it endured from Ashtan.
Their history goes as far back as the Infernal guild of Ashtan. However, due to political upheavals and failed plots on the part of the Infernals, they were forcibly driven from Ashtan by a mob of denizens and adventurers. Their guildhall at the time, the Iron Citadel, was destroyed and their guild tutor was slain and his head was piked at the former entrance to the hall for all to see.
When Mhaldor was formed, the first guild to become affiliated with the city was the Maldaathi which consisted of members of the infernals who remained faithful to Lord Sartan, and who had awaited His return.
They now serve as pinnacles of honourable Evil for the city, combining knightly nobility with the ideals of Oppression and Suffering.
