A gryphon is a graceful, mighty creature with the head of a golden eagle, the body of a big cat, and massive wings which span twelve feet or more. Only known to inhabit the Vasnari Mountains, they are haughty but are bred as mounts in some cultures. Hippogriffs, a more tractable crossbreed between gryphons and horses, are closely related to gryphons.
It is rumoured that with the aid of an adventurer, the knight Cwincan can summon a gryphon to guard Eleusis.
