This page refers to the organisational contract. For other uses, please see writs (disambiguation).

Writs are a type of contract owned by organisations that allows the hiring of a champion or assassin against an individual. The writ system was created because the formal expectations for adventurer-on-adventurer conflict were unsuitable for handling adventurer vs. organisation conflict.

Writs are generated when an individual commits an offence against an organisation, and a member of the organisation formally bears witness to the act. An organisation may only take out one contract per writ. Currently, the writ system is in effect only for Orders during the defilement of shrines. Cities conduct similar business through their internal bounty systems.
