Daqsool, the Qoul of Tir Murann, is a Vertani commander who was banished from his home world of Vertan due to internal politics and fled to the Prime Material Plane, along with his retinue. He towers over most Achaeans, as do most members of his giant race. His twin golden eyes, a rarity in Vertani, mark him as one of the Daq.

When Daqsool first arrived in Sapience, he was housed in one of the newly built Vertani Fortresses until Hingar and Overlord Mournria were slain in a decisive battle. It was then the Vertani came out of the fortress and approached a group of Shallamese to ask for amnesty. Daqsool sought sanctuary for himself and his troops in Shallam, and he was welcomed into the Palace. In return, he told the Shallamese much about what was happening in the Vertani home world, where divisive pro-war and anti-war factions were locked in constant opposition.

After the Ashtan-Mhaldor alliance destroyed the last fortress and the only remaining portal to Vertan, the Logos Himself appeared and asked the Overseer of Ashtan, Erhon, and the then Tyrannus of Mhaldor, Khoraji, to decide the fate of the last contingent of Vertani on Sapience. The decision was that they would be allowed to remain and build a village for themselves. Sarapis gave them the gift of resurrection, and after many years of planning and preparing, Daqsool announced to the world that he had found a spot of unoccupied land that he and the remaining Vertani were planning to settle on. That piece of land, discovered to be in the Dakhota Hills, is now the village of Tir Murann. It is there that Daqsool leads his people and bears the title of Quol.
