The Great Southern Road, also known as simply the Southern Highway, runs from an unnamed road northwest of Moghedu along and between the base of the Vashnar Mountains and the Mhojave Desert. Curving eastward, the road follows the mountains and passes through the Shamtota Hills and Pash Valley, ending in the fishing community of Jaru.
