Cranes are beautiful aquatic birds found in various places around the world. Their long necks and narrow beaks make them suited for spearing plants and wildlife in the freshwater environments which they dwell in.
Red cranes are comparatively rare, being found only on the shores of Lake Vundamere. It is said that they especially enjoy fish.
Black cranes are native to the valley of Xhaiden Dale. It was a desire to catalogue these cranes that led Ignatius, the ornithologist to discover the hidden valley of the Northern Vashnars.
White cranes reside upon a lake in the Saoghal Valley, with their snowy-white cousins gliding on the waters of the Nilakantha River as it flows into Lake Xulighae on Meropis.
