Danaeus

Danaeus, the dark savant was once a mortal spellweaver, a colleague of the wizard Hycanthus. Danaeus was looked down upon because lacked the flair of other magicians. In jealous search of the secret of immortality, in his old age he joined the earliest occultists in their experimentation with chaos. When the Burning Times saw the witch-hunting of his kind, Danaeus joined his peers in refuge with Countess Belladona while he continued his research. The countess taught Danaeus the skill of Necromancy, which he used with his colleagues to dabble in what would come to be called the Soulcage Experiments. Joining their resources, the cabalists conducted the doomed experiment which turned the noblewoman into a vampiress. Fleeing her wrath, Danaeus once more went into hiding. His lifelong search for deathlessness led to contact with the entity Pazuzu, who saw potential in him. With the princely guidance of Woe, his final experiment transfigured Danaeus into a half-demon. Danaeus became chief advisor to the demon prince before he switched allegiances first to Golgotha, and finally Glaaki in successive coups of the Chaos Plane.
