Hutchings', owned by a broker of the same name, is a small shop located on the Solace Bay in Targossas. Exotic fragrances duel with the acrid odours of burnt wood and grease in the stone-walled store, its clusters of questionable curious littered along walls of silver-lined shelves.

Wares

Ornate ivory scabbard - 400gp
Made from pure ivory, this ornate scabbard is artfully decorated, and adorned with delicately carved bas-reliefs. Spread over three, individual sections, which spiral around the container from point to sheath, scenes of tribulations invite a second glance to observe the depiction of a tale immortalised in the unyielding substance. The images begin in a city of shattered domes, continue on an island monastery and finally, occupying more than half of the scabbard, end in a cliffside city of gold-leaf applique flanked by indigo-tinted waterfalls and crowned by a flame of striated sardonyx.
Indigo leather falconry glove - 1000gp
Supple leather has been tanned and dyed a dark, rich indigo and sewn into a toughened falconry glove. The craftsmanship is simple and effective, the seams double-stitched for durability, but this simplicity is contrasted by an incredibly elegant relief of a golden phoenix engulfed in a roaring pyre stamped into the back of the hand, outlined in burnished red and gold thread. A leather thong attaches to a loop in the cuff, from which hangs a small leather hood, fitted to cover a falcon's head and eyes to keep it calm.
Silverveil brazier - 5000gp
Nestled securely within the restrictive embrace of a triad of iron poles, a stunning basin swings slowly in pendular motion. A thick chain suspended overhead bears the majority of the load, the singular cable the cause of the gracious looping back and forth. The bowl itself has two distinct sections: a broad dish to host chunks of incense and its smaller counterpart directly beneath. A fine metal mesh adorns the lower part of the larger basin, allowing ash and other debris to collect in the lower container.
Thurible of burnished copper - 1200gp
Heavy and utilitarian, this bulbous censer consists of a solid copper base interlocked with a lid of Silverveil filigree. A vent of circular apertures perforates the crown in a vaguely pentagonal pattern. Four chains extend from its burnished bowl, allowing the sphere to be swung for ceremonial purpose.
Sharkskin quiver of ivory hue - 600gp
Hand-carved from the skin of an eusian white shark, this slender quiver is gently rough to the touch, yet glitters with a sublime aura of ivory luminescence, the pliant material reacting to the slightest whisper of light's embrace. Polished wood, borne from the renowned acacia trees of Targossas, graces both ends of the container. A matching rod of lacquered wood runs down the spine, strengthening the entire frame. The quiver is secured across the shoulder of the wearer by way of a hardy strap of burnt-orange leather, interlocked between the two ends to form a sturdy harness.
Dark vial of acacia wood and blossoms - 300gp
Carved from the acacia trees natural to Targossas, this vial has a stout base with a long, tapering neck, the design easy to handle and simple yet timelessly elegant. The wood is carefully stained to give the container a colour that is as deep as the darkest stroke of midnight, and finely buffed to a polished smoothness. White acacia blossoms with subtle indigo edging swirl lazily around the centre part of the item, each painted with artistic care. Nestled securely into the lip, a shining silver topper keeps the contents from spilling away.
Indigo glass alembic - 450gp
Tempered, pale indigo glass has been blown into a large pear shape, neatly cut at the top to allow it to be filled. The lid is a similar piece of curved, blown glass with a long tube running off one side, fitting flushly into the off-centre opening at the top of the rounded distillation flask. Two highly polished stands fashioned from the terraqueous silver of the Silverveil silt beds hold the apparatus in place, the larger of which is fitted on the base with a circular sandstone slab, into which is fitted a small burner.
Pyre-shaped tinderbox - 500gp
Shaped into the form of a massive pyre of Light, the silver metal of this pocket-sized tinderbox is covered with ornamental markings, and religious symbols of the Bloodsworn Gods. A drawing of a ritual altar within Targossas is inscribed upon its base. Spectral flames dance across the top of the engraving, flickering with apparent movement. Slivers of pale wood are packed into a small box and fastened directly to the underside of the container, alongside several shards of flint. The three sides of the box come together in a truncated pyramid with a slightly recessed flat plate at the top.
Handmade golden flute - 7500gp
Precious, fourteen-carat gold has been meticulously hand-crafted into a uniquely melodious flute. The traditional, in-line ring keys offer a more subtle tone, and each bear a painstakingly detailed engraving. Providing for a deeper, richer sound, the golden lip plate and riser bear a similar floral tracery, as do the rings and the aureate crown. The whole piece is as venerable for its artistry as it is for its nigh unmatched craftsmanship.
Slender stick of acacia incense - 50gp
Little more than a slender sliver of wood shaped into a curved crescent, this pungent block still manages an eye-capturing appearance: the finish of the porous material honed to a high shine. Carved from the central boughs of a Targossian acacia tree and tightly bound amidst a fine weave of transparent silk, the incense is ready to burn at a moment's notice.
Cube of jasmine incense - 150gp
A strong scent of jasmine lingers around this small cube of incense, cleverly designed at the top to resemble a flower, with defined petals and leaves making up the bulk of the item. The bloom is a stylish mass of white, with the faintest brush of yellow adding a pale tinge of colour. The main cube is an attractive mix of green and brown as if resembling an actual pot.
