This page is about the form of currency. For uses in construction, please see Housing credits.

Credits are an immaterial form of currency, considered by some adventurers to be more valuable than gold, that can be used for several things. A liquid tender, credits may be freely bought, sold, transferred, or traded between adventurers on the open market, sometimes for staggeringly high prices.

Neocredits were the currency of young adventurers, an obsolete form of bound credit awarded upon achieving various level threshholds. Replaced by bound credits system in 415 AF, they could be converted into lessons towards learning skills.

Bound credits are credits which have been bound to an adventurer for personal use, either converted from normal credits or acquired as rewards via promotions or purchased in the renown shop. While they cannot be bought, sold, or transferred, credits become most useful in this form. Bound credits exist to be converted into lessons, which are the currency of learning, to purchase artefacts, permits, and licenses in Delos or to be used for item upgrades and customisations. They can be traded in for 6 lessons per credit. The first 1000 credits that an adventurer converts to bound credits receives a bonus 2.5 lessons per credit bound.

Artefact upgrade credits are credits which can only be used specifically towards the cost of upgrading artefacts. For instance, for upgrading an Orcsplitter Battleaxe to a Stonereaver Battleaxe or upgrading from a Sash of Wisdom to a Sash of Caymus. Upgrade credits have a 1:1 value to normal credits, and are sometimes awarded as promotional prizes. They can also be traded in for 3 lessons per credit.

Customisation credits are credits used only to add reactions or alter the appearance of artefacts, items, or minipets. They are not eligible for purchase of artefact pets. They have a 1:1 value to normal credits and are transferrable like normal credits.
