Just as winter was passing in 396 A.F., a great rumbling alerted all of [[Sapience]] that the statue of Lord [[Sartan]] upon the summit of the Great Rock had come alive. It quickly made its away to [[Shallam]], slaughtering anything that got in its way until it was finally defeated. All that remains upon the summit is a large, stone base.

Within the caverns the cryptic [[Beastlords]] dwell and [[Kasha]], a young maiden, is enslaved. Also found below the ground are the serpent-like [[ophidians]].

The tight corridors of the Great Rock caverns are also home to bat-like stirges, whose eggs are delicacy among the ophidians. In one of the larger chambers, [[Arinas]] the Entomologist studies all species of insects. He is accompanied by a giant rhinoceros beetle, whom he has affectionately named [[Herbie]].
