Darnashta'i is a Tsol'aa who long ago summoned the Wyrm of Worlds, a demon, to rid the forests of humans. In doing so, he brought much trouble upon himself and Sapience for years to come, his actions inadvertently leading to the creation of the Underground Forest in Azdun, the infection of Gaia with madness (and subsequently, Gaia's betrayal), and the captivity of Demeter in the Netherworld.

He now resides in the Tsol'aa village of the Aalen.
