About Aegis

Aegis is the God of War and is considered one of the Elder Gods.

During the mythos, He was supreme commander of the Elder Gods' legions of armies who would finally defeat the Triumvirate with the help of the newly found dragons. After the Elder Gods' victory, He walked the many universes spreading war. However, in recent history, He returned to Sapience during the war of the divine child. Since His return, His order has grown and erected many shrines devoted to him, shrines characterised by a mailed fist and flaming scimitar.

He is wed to Eris, God of Chaos. He has two divine children: Pandora, Goddess of Mischief and Pandemonium, who currently sleeps under Aegis' protection.

The Realm of War

Many associate the realm of war with the most spectacular and obvious effects of a protacted campaign. Pictures of armies arrayed against each other are easy to conjure in any of our minds. Sieged walls, knights riding out in armour and even hordes of demons upon the battlefield are the easiest physical manifestations of war that we can imagine.

The realm of Aegis, however, is not limited to the bloody battlefield. Aegis' realm encompasses any skill, task, philosophical or social tactic that contributes to the success of war. Hence, Aegis knows that diplomacy, secrecy, boldness and boastfulness all have a place in the realm of war when used in the appropriate moments.

Although practically any skill, ability or task can be used within the realm of war, it may be easiest to try to categorise those skills or abilities into one of these three types:

  1. Direct harm
  2. Discovery of information
  3. Leading and organising others to promote the victory

These categories will help you assess whether any skill, ability or philosophy may be within the realm of war.
