The Shallam Bridge bridge was a marvel of construction which linked Shallam to its smaller sister town of Jaru. It was strong enough to hold divisions of soldiers as well as their steeds and wide enough for eight men to walk abreast across it. It was wrought of ancient marble, which was pitted and scarred over the years. Three great arches towering above it took the weight of its broad span while at its apex was a massive wooden gate, designed to repel attackers in times of war. A small gatehouse was constructed on the eastern side of the bridge, hanging out over the slow moving waters of the Pachacacha River.
The Shallam Bridge was destroyed with the fall of Jewel of the East, its thousand year-old timbers uprooted and its pitted stone cast into the sea.
