Keleus

Keleus was the first founder of Eleusis. Originally a Tsol'aa of the Aalen Forest, he grew dissatisfied with the growing isolationism of his people. A vision bestowed by the Earthmother Gaia inspired him to depart on a pilgrimage, and both he and his wife Taanea led a cadre of followers to settle in the far Eastern Ithmia.

Keleus forged an early alliance with Queen Titania and the Garden of the Dryads. In exchange for their blessing and their aid, he pledged Eleusis's support in the war against the buckawns of Forest Watch. Eleusis and the dryads maintained the upper hand throughout much of the conflict, though a single decisive blow — a Necromantic plague summoned by the Buckawn Lord Scolis — left the great majority of Eleusis's founding citizens unable to bear children.

After dying of old age centuries later, Keleus was interred in the catacombs beneath the Eleusian fields.
