Raffles, the mynah bird, is an odd little bird with glossy black feathers and bright yellow markings beneath each eye. A resident of Tarahs' temple and loyal to Her, Raffles possesses the unique ability to mimic whatever an adventurer says in that adventurer's voice. If repeated often enough, Raffles will learn a phrase and say it back to the room in the voice of his teacher. The longer the statement, however, the more difficult it is for him to learn, a testament to the half-sentences he sometimes squawks. The intelligent little guy can also recall past remarks if asked for a subject. For example, one would say, "Raffles, could you say something about Neraeos?" and Raffles would say, in Tarah's voice, "Neraeos smells like dead fish!" Additionally, Raffles will happily repeat the things he's learned in response to the following: "What's the good word, Raffles?"

Raffles is not native to Sapience, having been encountered by Tarah somewhere else and brought back to the continent after Her 100-year journey. He also serves as Her personal messenger, amongst other things. For the nonce, he will only learn new utterances by his Lady and Her followers, the Concordians, and can similarly be summoned by them.
