The Jade Icon Saga revolved around the Jade Icon appropriately enough. Within the icon were placed the four nightmare spirits, Alp, Cur, Dibbuk and Erinyes by the Goddess Valnurana to protect mortals from their power. Growing bored over time, the nightmares were granted a chance at freedom when the icon chipped and their essence was allowed beyond again. Creating a disturbance within the mortal plane, the Obeah Ecstasia sent their cleric Emese to deal with it. Eventually finding the missing shard of the icon, it was made whole again and the spirits sealed within once more. Though not all four were within when it was sealed, Erinyes escaped undetected via a distraction caused by the other spirits. Hiding from Emese as she took the Icon away, the nightmare of guilt began to gather power in hiding, marshalling her strength. Eventually acting out, she caused a wide array of distrubance within the dream realm, eventually possessing Ashtan's city tutor Epicurus. Once revealed by Emese, the nightmare spirit gathered her power and met Gelphend within the desert. Through him she was able to finally destroy the prison and free the others. Nightmares ran rampant as the spirits revelled in their freedom, but just as quickly it had started it stopped again. Their actions has roused the Lady of Dreams from Her slumber and She had taken control once more. Returning to the side of their Mother, the nightmare spirits became Her angels of dreams and have stood as Her heralds since.
