Elegnem, shaman of the Tomacula, is the last in a long line of mystics, utilising many exotic herbs and items in her rituals.
When Utata fell ill during the events of the Eternal Night, Elegnem made a variety of potions in her attempts to cure him. She was eventually successful. Most of the potions included herbs, which could combat the symptoms of his illness, and various other items, which adventurers willingly provided or fetched for her from the far corners of Sapience.
One such potion required black clay. The result was something that apparently tasted like pony poo.
