The Language someone speaks is their method of communicating to others. In addition to city and racial languages, some denizens may have their own language which may or may not be possible for adventurers to learn.

All adventurers begin life in Achaea speaking their racial language, and a common language. Upon joining or becoming allied to a city, one will magically comprehend anything anyone says while speaking that city's language. There are several language tutors throughout the land who are will teach you to speak the language of another race provided you have the lessons and gold to do so.
