King Dalles VI was the ruler of Shallam during the Wars of Succession. He was a vocal advocate of Catarin deSangre's ascendance to the throne and made public declarations against foul Castomira's leadership of Seleucar. In one famed public address, he spoke: "We are part of the Seleucar that Nicator and Piraeus created. We are part of the Seleucar of King Valerias. But in the name of the Logos, we are not part of the Seleucar of Castomira Brangwin! The essential doctrines of human dignity and just rulership shall not be overturned within our shining walls." After Catarin had won the admiration of King Tephicles and the Ashtani at the Tournament of Blades and arrived at the Shallamese gates with a contingent of Ashtani delegates, King Dalles pledged his wholehearted allegiance to them.
