Excommunication

Excommunication is the much feared act of permanently severing the ability of Devotion users to regenerate devotion. Traditionally, this power was bestowed upon the Archprelates and Divine Patron of the Holy Church of Achaea. After the Church Era, the power was passed to the Caliphs of Shallam, and still later, acquired by the Deacon of Celestia. It is similar to anathema. The verb form of the word is "excommunicate".
