Epicurus, Master of the Garden is the tutor and resident philosopher of Ashtan. Though he has lived in his Stagira Boulevard home in Ashtan for countless years, he did spend part of his youth in Shala-Khulia where he learned the ways of the jungle from Ixtahuitl, Shaman of the Khish.

Owing to his reputation as a man of wisdom on many subjects, Epicurus has been involved in a myriad of events throughout history. He has taken place in such cases as the Jade Icon Saga, the destruction of the Iron Citadel, and the Taint and its subsequent banishing. Damaris blames him for the destruction of her personal home in Hashan.
