The serpentine basilisk is a fearsome creature. Its power comes not only from its physical strength but also from its deadly gaze which can paralyse or stupefy its unwary opponents. Though a large, cave-dwelling variety of basilisk is said to exist, the only ones currently found upon the continent of Sapience are the forest basilisks which dwell in the Aalen and the Lupine Hunting Grounds.
