The serpentine basilisk is a fearsome creature, whose power comes not only from its physical strength but from its deadly gaze, which can paralyze or stupefy its unwary opponents.
Though a large, cave-dwelling variety of basilisk is said to exist, the only ones known upon the continent of Sapience are the forest basilisks, which dwell in the Aalen and the Lupine Hunting Grounds.
