The Flame of Devotion was an evanescent wisp of fire ritually summoned by followers of the Deucalic faction during the Battle of Woe against Pazuzu. With difficulty, it required eight ritualists in constant focus to draw it from the Prime Material Plane and anchor it to the plane of Memory. Successfully channelling it stabilised the presence of transplanar adventurers in the bounds of the memory of Shallam and provided a source of resurrection to any who perished during the battle, the sole exception to the anti-revival magic field cast by the Prince of Woe. The Flame's long-term imposition into the realm of recollection sowed the seeds of Memory's later disintegration of the islands of present-day Targossas.
