Miye

Lady Miye, Mistress of the Theran Teahouse, sells a variety of teas from her pagoda within the Lucretian Athenaeum. She brews the teas herself, arranging for the import of necessary ingredients ahead of time.

Quiet and unassuming, Miye is the epitome of demure loveliness. She wears silken, shimmering, rose-hued robes, delicately embroidered on the hem and sleeves with orange blossoms. Fragrant white camellias adorn her dark hair and complement her ivory skin, while her eyes sparkle with silent laughter. She moves precisely and elegantly, and her demeanour is one of tempered patience and serenity.

Dark clay, its hue somewhere between grey and brown, forms this stout mug. Earthy and unfinished, the outer surface is textured with a fern-like pattern. A dark, sweet tea sloshes within the cup, its smell sugary-sweet without being overpowering.

Smoky black tea - 35gp

This simple cup is crafted of dark blue ceramic, unadorned aside from the half-heart shaped handle that sweeps down one angled side. The dark brown tea inside smells strong and oddly smoky, though the earthy scent of the leaves is still present.

Light strawberry tea - 35gp

This delicate cup of white china has a vivid red border around its rim and miniature strawberries painted over its surface. The hue of the decorations is accented by the paler pink liquid inside that sends off waves of sweet-smelling steam.

Refreshing green tea - 35gp

Made of fired clay, the thick walls of this cup are painted with tiny branches of glazed white flowers. The outer surface of the rounded pottery is glossy but somewhat irregular, though the inside is completely smooth. Green tea flecked with small bits of dried leaves sits within the vessel.

The body of this cup is formed of orange-painted porcelain, ringed with zigzagging bands of red and yellow. Bearing thinner stripes of the same colours, the handle is a perfect semicircle that curves from lip to base. Fruity tea darkens the inside of the cup, releasing the fresh scent of mango.

Crisp mint tea - 35gp

Cheerily bright green, this delicate teacup is simple and otherwise unpainted, relying on its slightly fluted sides and scalloped rim for an understated elegance. Tea of a paler jade hue ripples within the walls of the vessel, smelling strongly of mint.

Almond spice tea - 35gp

Made in a classic style, this cream-coloured cup bears a gilded brim with several small, golden fleurs-de-lis painted around the outside. The tea within is dark and nutty, smelling strongly of nutmeg and cloves as it releases hot steam into the air.

Sweet caramel tea - 35gp

Painted with the crossed pickaxe and pitchfork of Nimick, this fired clay cup contains a steaming serving of strong black tea. The lip of the cup bends outwards near the curved handle so that it can be drunk from without spillage. Hot steam wafts up with the pleasant scent of the black tea leaves floating idly around the cup.
