Hermann Schmidt, a humble bartender hailing from Hashan, is the proprietor of Bagwar Alehouse. Years ago a brawl over his wife, Lisse, led to the young couple's exile from the city. Relying on the words of his grandmother, they journeyed through the Western Ithmia in search of the village of Bagwar's Copse. There they started a new life of peace and quiet, and live there happily with their daughter, Gretel.
