Terane, the Sylvan, was a grumpy Dwarf who made his Grove home in the village of Bagwar's Copse. He thought he was better than everyone else and didn't hesitate to prove it.

In an experiment to create a physical link between an elm and his plant-like form, the Viridian cut into the elder tree in his grove. Horrified by this breach, the spirits of the forest lent the elm their strength and Terane was drawn into its bark. A great elemental struggle took place within and above, a storm gathering to unleash rain, lightning, and hail upon the copse, starting fires throughout the Western Ithmia. Forestals convened upon the ancient tree, synchronising their elemental skills with the meteorologic pattern and succeeded in dissipating the atmospheric fury. Terane was gone forever, but in this way the sylvans learned the skills weatherweaving and propagation.

Terane is survived by his wife Ophilia their daughter, Lisia.
