Caymus is one of the most prominent Aldar, and the greatest prophet that history has ever seen. Caymus made the Twin Prophecies at about the same time Maya was raped by the Unnamable Horror. These prophecies stated that Proteus would be overthrown, and that Maya would bear twins that may rival the Aldar's own power.
