Retirement refers to the time of life when one chooses to permanently leave adventuring behind. There is no set age or time which this may occur; young or old, it is up to the choosing of each adventurer. Somewhat expensive, official retirement is available only for those adventurers who have lived a full life - having saved, or spent, the equivalent of one thousand or more credits in value. This value may be expressed in lessons (learned or not), artefacts, or otherworldly credits.
Some adventurers retire quietly, while others throw retirement parties. Still others choose this occasional to mark the ending of not only their working lives but their mortal lives as well.
An adventurer who retires is typically never actively seen in the world again, living on in the memories of those they have left behind.
