The tropical Notic Ocean outlines the southern border of Sapience's peninsula, partially surrounding Shallam and the Southern Vashnars. Its warm waters are guarded by Notia, ocean spirit of the Southern Sea. At the present time, Zaphar Isle is the only island charted in the Notic Ocean.
The Notic is considered a terrible place to many mariners; its tempestuous waters are constantly plagued by unpredictable storm cells, shifting chops, and ferocious sea monsters. The stretch of this ocean directly south of the Vashnars is known as the Sea of Screamed Prayers.
