Mahogany hand vice

The mahogany hand vice, fashioned primarily from steel blocks, jaws and a spindle, with only the handle fashioned from mahogany, this vice was offered in the Shop of Wonders in Delos and first used in the compression of iconic shards, resulting in larger, heavier, and more effective shards to strengthen house icons. The steel jaws of the vice were corrugated and moulded in the shape of a prism, allowing them to grip any size or variety of shard. With the rise of the second Black Wave in the eighth century the the hand vice saw another use: compressing barrier shards to reinforce the Underrealm Barrier against the Tsol'teth menace.
