The hippocampi are noble animals of the deep oceans. With the forelegs, chest, and head of a mighty horse and the hind-end of a fish, hippocampi can grow to a length of ten feet and are covered with blue-green scales. They are intelligent animals and will only allow people they regard as friends of the sea to ride upon them.
It is rumoured that vast herds of hippocampi travel in the wild Sefyric Ocean, though they are occasionally found in smaller numbers throughout all the oceans.
The hippocampus is the primary symbol of Neraeos, God of the Sea.
