Atop the volcano in Dun Valley sits the imposing Dun Fortress, home of the ogre baron Vukub Ysin'zhu and Xulu, an orc witchdoctor. At its base are situated the villages of Thalagor and Gar'nok, home to many of the soldiers and warriors that patrol the fortress halls. Five storeys and a cellar comprise the fortress itself, which is surrounded by a moat infested with catfish and poisonous water snakes.
- Ground floor
- The approach to the fortress features a large courtyard and arcade surrounding the audience chamber and the Baron's throne.
- Cellar
- Containing mostly storage rooms and the occasional prisoner, this floor is seldom patrolled.
- 1st floor
- Here lie the defensive workings of the fortress, which are also seldom patrolled.
- 2nd floor
- Holding cells comprise the north hallway, while soldiers' barracks line the western corridor. Orc soldiers and guards may be found throughout.
- 3rd floor
- The busier of the lower levels of the fortress, a number of barracks for orcs and ogres are quartered here, as well as the soldiers' mess and the kitchen. The once-magnificent banquet hall, now in disrepair, seems to be the gathering place for drunkards; the far wing houses the private apartments of the more elite warriors, including the laboratory of the Orc Witchdoctor and Ogre Mage's study. The battlements which overlook the entrance to the fortress can also be accessed via this level, which is patrolled by a variety of orcs and ogres.
- 4th floor
- The baron's reception hall, dining hall, and private chambers. The baron is most often found here, guarded by the most elite of his ogre sentries and knights.
