Vunda was the gruesome monster for which Lake Vundamere was named. In ancient times, Vunda destroyed a village that had sprung up around the lake, prompting the villagers to offer tributes to pacify her. She entered a period of dormancy that resulted in the appearance of the creature of Vundamere. Craden once accidentally hooked Vunda while fishing and was devoured for a time before his return from the Halls of Maya. The dragon Garth eventually managed to slay Vunda, much to the sorrow of the creature of Vundamere.
