The multifaceted, diamond-shaped surfaces of an uncountable number of delicately overlapping obsidian scales scintillate blood red and pitch black over the surface of this immense arrow, as whorls of light flare and smoulder erratically from within. Climbing approximately twenty feet into the air, the
smoothly-tapered cylindrical spike is clearly crafted for flight and accuracy in tremendous proportions. Half-buried beneath a great swell of golden sand, a wickedly barbed, razor-sharp onyx arrowhead is grasped firmly between the wedge-shaped expanse of the obsidian viper's jaws. Narrow, elliptical blades of emerald-green fire pulse rhythmically in the serpent's lidless eyes, each one framed in an intricate, eyelash-like ridge of raised and separated scales. Writhing sinuously, the distant nock of the great arrow snaps and contracts in the open air, while voluminous folds of darkness and deep shadow revolve and enshroud its length.
