Tavarius was the guise assumed by Slith during the time of Eternal Night and its preceding events.
Tavarius first appeared to the leadership of Hashan in 424 AF as a wealthy former citizen and scholar, whose goal was to gift the city with a great planetarium to properly display the Disc of the Nocturne.
