Gloom considers Belladona to be an enemy, having once challenged her to battle. He managed to fight her to a draw but the effort was so taxing that it reduced him to a non corporeal entity, capable of great magic but no longer able to exist normally on the Prime Material Plane. Thus he now lurks in Belladona's Keep, invisible to the Countess, plotting revenge.
