Claw Cove is a sheltered bight of icy sea off the western coast of Mhaldor Isle. The island scablands roll down to the craggy shore before jutting out into talon-shaped headlands along its northern and southern borders which give it its name. The northern promontory hosts Mhaldor harbour. Its desolate beaches are slick with algae and its brackish tidepools are infested with flesh-gnawing insects and immense blue mussels. Overhead, bloated gulls swarm and bark amidst the decay, their beady eyes ever-alert for weakness in their next meal.
