The serpentine basilisk is a fearsome creature, whose power comes not only from its physical strength but from its deadly gaze, which can paralyze or stupefy its unwary opponents.
Though a large, cave-dwelling variety of basilisk is said to exist, the only ones known upon the continent of Sapience are the forest basilisks, which dwell in the Aalen.
