Guild of Knights
The Guild of Knights was refounded in 889 AF, built upon the vision of its original namesake and pledged to safeguard the legacy and traditions of knighthood.
In the modern age, the surviving chivalric orders united to refound the Guild of Knights, headquartered in the former Imperial Duchy of Aster Malik, to preserve the Code of Chivalry and dawn another golden age of Honour.
History
The ancient Guild of Knights was founded to preserve the empire through individual adventure and knight-errantry, rather than actual military affairs, and took its duty in defending the honour of its monarch very seriously. Based out of its ceremonial fortress in Seleucar, the Castle of Twelve, its knights were private citizens who took pride in standing as example to both noble and commoner alike of Honor and Chivalry. Though it had a long-standing friendship with the Holy Church, it was historically founded as a secular organisation.
Notable members included Lord Damen Kephry, Lord Drago, and Lord Odysseus Rani. The guild fell with the first War of Succession, and while it was Damen Kephry's dream to reestablish the guild, he died before the chance arose.
Hierarchy
Led by a Knight Arbiter chosen from a council representing each recognised order, the Guild sets the standard of chivalry for all Knights of the realm. Holding order over enmity, each is held accountable to their oath, governed by the authority of the knighted, under the banner of chivalry.
The council also elects the Aster Regent, an official who oversees the well-being of Aster Town at large.
