Oinodes

Oinodes, the bread merchant, sells his wares in the dining room of the Amalaya. Although he is still a young man, with an easy smile, dark eyes, and a discerning gaze, the occasional spot of grey upon his head of curly and otherwise black hair hints at his advancing age.

This wine glass is made of a thin crystal, moulded into a graceful shape with a narrow, facetted stem. The wine within is an Amalayan red, smelling a bit nutty. Red wine sloshes about in it.

Eagle-shaped cracker - 10gp

Not too thin and a golden-yellow in colour, this cracker is moulded into the shape of an eagle, wings extended. Though crispy, its taste is surprising, a slightly sweet, buttery mix.

Golden heel of crusty bread - 30gp

Though normally a more undesirable part of the loaf, this heel is cooked to a lovely, golden brown and creates a perfect portion for a snack. A thin crust hides crispy insides that soften near the centre, tasting mild and a bit buttery.

Slice of chocolate cheesecake - 30gp

This dessert is a study in black and white, with its creamy cheesecake interior complimented by the dark, chocolate shell atop it. This bittersweet layer is crisscrossed with thin, circular designs of white icing for extra decoration, tracing across both the top and back of the dessert. A layer of sweet graham crackers supports the rest of the soft, mild cheesecake.

Piece of strawberry shortcake - 70gp

A stack of light, sweet cake has been layered with fluffy, white cream and fresh, sliced strawberries. The tart flavour of the berries and sweet cream and cake make a flavourful combination for a simple, light dessert none could turn down.

Wedge of pale cheese - 40gp

Pale and somewhat soft, this cheese is an off-white colour with a smooth texture. Its scent is mild, as is its taste, carrying only a hint of cheese flavour as if a bit dry.
