This page is about priest combat, the crusading adventures of the men and women of the cloth of Targossas.

Class Summary

Priests are the holy clerics of Achaea. They are a pseudo-momentum class, with access to afflictions and mana-drain attacks.

Skills

Spirituality - Though spirituality priest gains various skills from their connection to a guardian angel, able to summon a mace, passively heal themselve, or tear the living soul from an opponent.

Devotion - Gives a priest their Holy skills, through the act of Rites, to Resurrection of the dead.

Zeal - anointing with the ashes of the Fallen Greater Phoenix grants access to the classic spirit shields and a flurry of offensive abilities.

Recommended Learning Order

  • Learn Spirituality until Fabled first because it correlates directly with your mace accuracy and guardian angel energy pool.
  • Learn Devotion until Adept because the amount of health you heal for with Hands correlates directly with your skill in it.

Stats

Your stats are not terribly influential on your abilities as a priest so constitution is recommended as most beneficial stat to you for survivability.

Traits

The following traits are often considered desirable for Priests:

  • Nimble - Mace in spirituality uses balance, and Priest offense centers around smites and quick limb breaks. This trait is a useful for an aspiring combatant.
  • Mind Warden - Constant monitoring of the mental strength of your opponent is crucial so this trait is non-negotiable for a priest in combat.

Priest Equipment

None.

Basic Combat Strategy

Put rites up if you can. Since building momentum is a must, piety is immensely helpful to impeded running. Pair smites with chastens. Afflictions are a game of stack and stick with guilt, tenderskin, and spiritburn. Build prayer length and end them with rebukes. Break limbs as you go. Exhaust their minds with the weight of their afflictions when you bring down your holy wrath. Absolving a heretic of their sins at the end of it all is the highest calling of the spirit.

Artefacts for Priest Combat

The most helpful ones for Priest are:

  • Tuning Fork

The tuning fork doubles the duration of the rites you lay, which conserves devotion and momentum over the course of long fights.

  • Artefact maces

For obvious reasons.
